INSPIRATION & CREATION
Inspired by the material, the trace, the gesture, my artistic approach is an exploration of the sensoriality associated with creation. My works alternate between acrylic work associated with different media and ink traces on structured paper.
Bodies have their memory. Sensory traces — early, buried encodings — reactivate suddenly decades later. That’s how it all began: inks at the Venice Biennale, sensual and deep, awakened something that had been asleep since adolescence. Since Dubuffet. Since a way of looking at the world that medicine had put on hold. Then the death of the father. From him, she inherits the relationship to technique — how things work, the pleasure of making from the inside. In response, almost immediately, she begins to make her own plasters. Carbonate, talc, silica. Surfaces that cannot be bought. Methodical and urgent at the same time. When a canvas fails, she covers it and starts again on it. Nothing is lost.
Ink works differently — it penetrates, spreads, or on the contrary detaches and shines. Here mastery lets go. The medium has its own logic.
Between the two: the same obsession with the trace. What remains of a gesture, of an experienced emotion. And in this search, the living asserts itself on its own — organisms, the seabed, trees, flocks of birds emerge from the material without having been summoned.
The body knows before the hand. The hand knows before the eye.
